Eclipse update allows users to search for updates to installed features made available over the internet, such as the Teamprise plugin. It is often the easiest way to install Teamprise into an existing Eclipse based IDE. However, in organizations with a large Eclipse install base several problems can arise from this model:
Fortunately these concerns can be addressed by the Eclipse update functionality. Rather than accessing the public Teamprise update site, an organization can create a local mirror of the Teamprise update site at any chosen version.
A zip archive of the Teamprise update site is available from http://teamprise.com/download. Simply download the zip file, extract the contents and make it available on a web server inside your corporate network. We would ask that you take reasonable precautions to make sure that only users inside your organization can access your local update site.
The new URL should be supplied to all users inside your organization who wish to install Teamprise. You can direct them to configure their Eclipse instances for automatic updates, so that when new versions of the site are uploaded to your local mirror users will automatically be notified about it.
