Installation of Teamprise Explorer on all platforms is simple: unzip the archive and run the program. However, there are a few things to note when installing it for use by multiple users (either from a network share or in a system location on a multi-user system).
When Explorer is installed for multi-user access, it is important to set the permissions on the installed files and directories so users cannot modify the installed files or create new subdirectories there. These permission changes must be done before the first time Teamprise Explorer is run from that install location.
When Teamprise Explorer runs for the first time, it detects whether it can write some configuration information to the directory where it is installed. If it can write to the install directory, it writes some information to the configuration subdirectory. If it cannot write to the install directory, it creates configuration files in the user's home directory instead.
